SEEKING COMMON GROUND BETWEEN THEOLOGY AND SUSTAINABILITY SCIENCE FOR JUST TRANSITIONS

The new field of sustainability science that has arisen over the past three decades, largely oriented toward cities, under closer examination may prove to be wholly inadequate deal with issues it was initially designed address. Built upon modernist value assumptions, its entire range outlooks failed account for character virtues needed realize sustainable approaches future, which are better found working within different religious traditions’ theologies and ethical outlooks. In light this, present article takes up a replicable agenda analyzing how these particular virtues—with special focus on parsimony futuremindedness—work regard visions promise bring about more just transition in cities.
